That’s right friends, the season is upon us! It’s time for the Geek Hard Christmas Special!

We start off with a tribute to our traditional house band Nerds with Guitars who parted ways earlier this year. We go back into the archive and play their song “A Star Wars Christmas Tune” from Christmas 2012. An original song they wrote for us to perform live on the show that night.

Our annual tradition of the Great Christmas Movie Swap! continues. Where we each give the other a Christmas movie the other hasn’t watched for the first time and then we review it. Mr. Green reviews Christmas Eve (chosen by Andrew) released by Anchor Bay Video just in time for the holidays. Starring Patrick Stewart, Jon Heder and James Roday. A power outage changes the lives of six groups of New Yorkers (Stewart, Heder, Roday) when they become trapped in elevators on Christmas Eve. While Andrew reviews Christmas in Compton (chosen by Mr. Green) released by Lionsgate Entertainment. Starring Keith David, Omar Gooding and Sheryl Lee Ralph. Big Earl (Keith David) runs a Christmas tree lot in Compton, and he demands success from all of his employees. His son causes a lot of trouble when he crosses the line to prove he can be successful.

We of course continue the tradition of forcing Mr. Green to read Christmas themed comics. This year Andrew has chosen Klaus by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora and the Deadpool Max X-mas Special! While Mr. Green likes comics he is not a fan of Christmas themed comics and Andrew continues his campaign to make Green like them.

Of course no Christmas show would be complete without our annual checking out of Christmas specials and hitting some television specials from the past. Muppets’ Family Christmas, the I Love Lucy Christmas Show and the Men Behaving Badly Christmas Episode.

Joining us via phone was musician Alex James to take part in another of Geek Hard’s time honoured traditions: Alex James Christmas Trivia. For the past 5 years running, we have subjected Alex to an embarrassing trivia quiz that shows off how much of a humbug this guy really is. If you’ve never heard the quiz before, you’re in for a treat. For those that have, the good times continue.

The Geek Hard Christmas Stocking winner is announced. Congratulations! Andrew Dunn of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Plus, the debut of Geek Hard’s 2016 Christmas Song performed by Andrew Young and Alex James “No More Event Books for Christmas”

It was a great show!

Plus for our Patreon supporters, our latest Geek Hard Extra After Credits segment discussing some of our own personal Christmas memories.

If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!

Mr. Green

Host/Producer at Geek Hard
Mr. Green LOVES television. Actually quit Beavers as a child because he couldn't watch re-runs of Rat Patrol. The love didn't stop there, soon he discovered Tom Baker's Doctor Who... the rest, as they say, is history. When he isn't doing the radio version of Geek Hard each Friday @ 7pm on Reality Radio 101 or watching hours of TV, he tries in vain to sleep as much as possible.
