We discuss the news of the week. Sonequa Martin-Green cast as the lead on Star Trek: Discovery launching May 2017. DC’s office comedy show Powerless is not dead and is no longer an office comedy as it gets revamped to try again at a pilot. Family friendly streaming service Vid-Angel gets shutdown after losing it’s latest court battle over claims of copyright infringement stemming from piracy from the major studios.

Our review of Rogue One starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk. Synopsis: In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

We also talk with The Development Slate Podcast’s Yaw Attuah & James Cooper about bad reboots from the last 5 years. The Development Slate is a weekly podcast wherein your hosts pitch how to turn books, TV series, comics, and forgotten franchises into hit films. In demand or long forgotten IP? It’s all fair game. Hosts Yaw Attuah and James Cooper act as development executives and work out the details, from tone to concept to cast and director. Check out what’s next for The Development Slate every Wednesday on iTunes.

It was a great show!

Plus for our Patreon supporters, our latest Geek Hard Extra After Credits segment with Yaw Attuah & James Cooper discussing the current state of trailers in Hollywood.

Mr. Green

Host/Producer at Geek Hard
Mr. Green LOVES television. Actually quit Beavers as a child because he couldn't watch re-runs of Rat Patrol. The love didn't stop there, soon he discovered Tom Baker's Doctor Who... the rest, as they say, is history. When he isn't doing the radio version of Geek Hard each Friday @ 7pm on Reality Radio 101 or watching hours of TV, he tries in vain to sleep as much as possible.
