Welcome to another edition of New Comics, where we give our suggestions on what books to pick up when perusing the comic shelves week to week. As always, I am joined by Kris Johnson of Bizarre Comics Entertainment. Read on to find the best of what the comic shop has in store for you this week.

DEADPOOL KILLS MARVEL UNIVERSE AGAIN #1 $3.99 (Marvel) – Cullen Bunn and Dalibor Talajic get on the Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe band back together for this aptly named sequel in which Wade Wilson sets out to slaughter the denizens of the House of Ideas until none are left to stand against his bag of guns (which he will NOT forget) and tiny baby hand (which has probably regrown to a full size hand by this point). This thing is pretty self-explanatory, people. If you want to see Marvel’s latest Wolverine/Spider-Man/Venom/Iron Man-guest-star-character-that-appears-in-a-shitload-of-books-for-a-sales-bump-at-an-ever-decreasing-rate-of-return kill a bunch of super-douches and have a few yucks while doing it, then you should absolutely buy this comic. (Kris Johnson)

SNOTGIRL #6 $2.99 (Image) – It’s Back! A brand new story arc about Lottie Person’s not-so-perfect life begins where mystery and mayhem abound! Who’da thunk a story about a fashion blogger with allergies could be so exciting? Well, when you add in that she possibly murdered someone and she’s not even sure if she did it, that does make the series a bit more juicy. Bryan Lee O’Malley knows how to do “drama”. Thankfully, artist Leslie Hung knows how to as well. Check out the mucus-filled fun. (Andrew)

BABYTEETH #2 $3.99 (Aftershock) – The first few weeks after giving birth is tough for any new mother. You don’t sleep very well if at all. You’re learning a whole new set of skills basically from scratch. You’re constantly worried that if you make any little mistake, your baby will just up and die. It’s rough. Now imagine the baby you just brought into the world is the literal Anti-Christ and a whole shit-ton of assassins and private armies are trying to (somewhat understandably) kill that baby. That’s at least two times as rough. At least. (Kris Johnson)

SUPERMAN #26 $2.99 (DC Comics) – The father/son super duo’s teamwork is off. How will Clark figure out how to get their groove back? Some crazy Kryptonian strategizing? Naw, all he needs to do is take a page from his Pa’s playbook. I’m pretty sure it’ll be a great day for hay after this one. The plan probably has something to do with “extra choring”. (Andrew)

UNHOLY GRAIL #1 $3.99 (Aftershock) – Aftershock Comics is banging out the must-read new comics once again! In this fresh series, Mirko Colak and Cullen Bunn (this motherfucker again?!) team up to the tell the true story of Arthur Pendragon. A dark story. A story of eldritch terror, yo. In this re-imagining of Arthur’s legend, the king of all England is led down a monstrous path by advisors and confidantes who are not entirely what they seem. Camelot. Excalibur. The Knights of the Round Table. All pour forth from a poison spring. A spring fed by the blood of the conquered. Spicy. (Kris Johnson)

JESSICA JONES #10 $3.99 (Marvel) – Oh look, it’s the Bendis book that everyone forgets about. It’s a shame ’cause it’s probably the best damn book he’s writing right now. Bendis and Gaydos are delivering another fine detective story and this one involves S.H.I.E.L.D., Hydra and Maria Hill. I know I’ve told you this before. It’s time you take my advice and check out this awesome little book that stars everybody’s favourite trash talking private dick. Make this the week where you better yourself….or at least better your pull list. (Andrew)

SEVEN TO ETERNITY #7 $3.99 (Image) – Adam made a completely fucked up choice at the end of last issue and now the rest of the scattered Mosak have no other option but to attempt to follow him, pick up the pieces of their mission, and somehow figure out a way to still achieve their objective. Unfortunately, Jerome Opens will not be supplying the art on this pivotal issue. But fear not because the unbelievably talented James Harron is pinch hitting. Seriously, this dude is a goddamn superstar and I can’t wait to see what he does with the weirdness found around every corner in the world of Zhal. (Kris Johnson)

HAWKEYE #8 $3.99 (Marvel) – Hey, here’s another book about a wise-ass private detective in the Marvel Universe. This one has a bit more sass, a bit less fifth, and can rock a bow and arrow like nobody’s business. Kate Bishop is the superhero I would most love to hang out with. She’s funny, smart and knows how to still be entertaining even when her entire life is falling apart. And did I mention the bow and arrows? That’s always a plus. This month, that whole “life falling apart” thing is in full swing as solving her current case might mean the end to all that she holds dear. Bummer for her. Good times for us readers. (Andrew)

BATMAN #26 $2.99 (DC Comics)The War of Jokes and Riddles rolls on! After The Joker attempted to regain his ability to giggle and guffaw by putting a .45 caliber slug point blank into The Riddler’s gut, a miraculously not-dead Edward Nygma is out for revenge. Gotham’s underworld is split right down the middle as the lines of war are drawn and the only thing that can prevent the shadowy metropolis from tearing itself apart is the Dark Knight himself! Can Batman put a stop to the madness before innocent lives are lost? And what will be the true cost of the most vicious conflict Gotham has ever seen? About $4 US… At least for this chapter. *wink* (Kris Johnson)

MONSTRESS TP VOL 02 $16.99 (Image) – I know, I know. I talk about this book a lot. That’s because it’s really good. A young girl with a kaiju living inside her. What’s not to love? As some of you know, I got the chance to have an in depth conversation about Monstress with writer Marjorie Lui at TCAF (which you can listen to HERE). If my words don’t convince you, maybe her words will. You’ll also hear words from myself and my Back Issue Bloodbath co-host, Sammy Younan, as well. So listen to all three of us and then pick up this trade. (Andrew)

So there you go. That’s this week’s New Comics. Check these books out and let us know what you think. We’ll be back again next week with more choice cuts of comic goodness!

If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
