Welcome to another edition of New Comics, where we give our suggestions on what books to pick up when perusing the comic shelves week to week. As always, I am joined by Kris Johnson of Bizarre Comics Entertainment. Read on to find the best of what the comic shop has in store for you this week.

BATMAN: WHITE KNIGHT #2 (OF 8) $3.99 (DC Comics) – Batman’s a homicidal dick! Just like Andrew has been saying for all these years! He’s straight up killing innocent civilians and force feeding criminals inhuman amounts of pharmaceuticals! And when I say criminals, I mean one criminal. The Joker, to be specific. In his lunacy, Batman appears to have inadvertently cured the Clown Prince of Crime. The newly “sane” Jack Napier has now made it his mission to take down the brutal Bat. And he’s blackmailing Jim Gordon and the GCPD into helping him do it. “Friends / How many of us have them?” (Kris Johnson)

CAPTAIN AMERICA #695 $3.99 (Marvel) – Cap’s back, baby! Told you he’d be back. That Nazi imposter is gone but the damage he did to the USA is still there. Steve Rogers will try his best to repair that damage by traveling cross country and helping folks along the way. It’s like the Hard Travelin’ Heroes….except there’s only one hero this time….and it’s a Marvel comic, not a DC one…..and it’s now and not the 1970s. Other than that, it’s exactly the same, right? (Andrew)

BATMAN: THE DEVASTATOR #1 $3.99 (DC Comics) – Seriously guys, these Dark Knight Metal tie-in one-shots are all great. Like unbelievably great. This latest installment focuses on the Batman of a world in which Bruce Wayne experiments on himself with the Doomsday virus, creating a being of unimaginable power and intellect. Its written by Frank Tieri and drawn by Tony Daniel. Go get it. You’ll dig it. Trust me. (Kris Johnson)

RED SONJA #10 $3.99 (Dynamite) – Red Sonja is still traveling cross country. Hey, is Captain America trying to steal Sonja’s gimmick? Red’s been at this for a number of issues now. You’ll have to catch up, Steve. Right now, Sonja’s in Vegas. What could possibly go wrong there? Oh right, everything. (Andrew)

IRON FIST #74 $3.99 (Marvel) – After a rocky start to the series, Ed Brisson and Mike Perkins have really found their footing, producing one fun chapter of mystical Kung-Fu action after another. This issue should be no different, as it finds Danny teaming with his longtime nemesis, Sabretooth, in search of a master thief. A master thief that somehow managed to break into Danny’s apartment, allude all manner of high-tech security, AND avoid the attention of motherfriggin’ Shao Lao the Undying. All to steal the legendary Book of The Iron Fist! Who could have pulled off such a feat? Sabretooth seems to have a pretty damn good idea. But chances are he and Danny will sooner bash each other’s faces into sopping meat bags than catch their highly-skilled quarry. (Kris Johnson)

PAST IS PROLOGUE: JULIET TP $17.99 (IDW) – Hey remember that comic series that Conor McCreery came on Geek Hard to promote back in April? The one about Juliet? I also did an episode of Back Issue Bloodbath where we talked about it? No? Well, here’s your chance to jump on the band wagon (or ox cart or whatever they used in fair Verona) and read the complete series! (Andrew)

NO. 1 WITH A BULLET #1 $3.99 (Image) – Nash Huang is a social media superstar. She’s killing the game, ya’ll. At least she was, until some douche equipped with the brand new iRis contact lens camera made a sex tape of the starlet and released it for the world to see. Now she has to deal with a media firestorm, an egregious violation of her privacy, and some psycho running around killing people in her general vicinity. Whoa. That last thing kind came outta nowhere, right? Right. I’ve gotta be honest with you, I thought something like this would happen when those Google Glass specs hit the streets. I’m extremely interested to see how creators Jacob Semahn and Jorge Carona play with the subject matter. Minus the murders, of course. I didn’t predict the murders. (Kris Johnson)

A VERY DC UNIVERSE REBIRTH HOLIDAY TP $16.99 (DC Comics) – If there’s one thing we love here at Geek Hard, it’s Christmas. We go all out here with contests and special episodes and everything. Turns out DC also loves Christmas. They went all out too with this handy, dandy trade collecting DC Rebirth Holiday Special #1, Batman Annual #1 and Harley Quinn #10. Get the jump on the holiday season before it gets all commercialized and pick this up! (Andrew)

SPIDER-MAN #234 $3.99 (Marvel) – Miles Morales gets his very own Sinister Six, maaaaan. And this one is led by the mysterious Iron Spider! Wait… What?! Yes indeed, someone is running around clad in that sweet-ass Iron Spider suit that Tony Stark put together for Peter Parker back when all the heroes were fighting each other in their big fancy Civil War. You remember that, right? No, no, the first one. The one that was mostly good. Yes, the one where Tony Stark was a big dick and unmasked Peter despite knowing the immediate danger it would place him and his family, only for Peter to have to eventually sacrifice his happy marriage to Mary Jane to Mephisto in order to put the genie back in the bottle. That one. Ahem. Yeah, so some dude seems to have found that costume in a trash can somewhere, painted the sumbitch black, and decided to throw down with the current Spider-Man of the friendly neighbourhood variety. And he’s brought Bombshell, Spot, Electro, Sandman, and the Hobgoblin along with him. Miles, pal, you’re in trouble. (Kris Johnson)

GRAVEDIGGERS UNION #1 $3.99 (Image) – When it comes to the apocalypse, there’s only one group that can save us: a bunch of dudes with shovels who dig graves. Wes Craig, artist of the awesome Deadly Class, is doing the writing thing this time with a comedic horror tale about the Gravediggers Union and their quest to save the planet from roided-up zombies, swamp vampires, space monkeys and MORE! This is the perfect comic to read to get over your post-Halloween depression from eating all that candy. (Andrew)
