GIFTS LESS THAN $300

Daredevil Mr. Potato Head PopTater – $14.99

It’s the Spud without Fear! This toy mixes the awesomeness of Daredevil with the fantastic fun of Mr. Potato Head. You can dress up this lovable children’s toy in the suit of your favourite blind vigilante to protect you from criminals all year round. It’s got the suit, the mask and the billy club. Everything you need. Don’t turn a blind eye to this great gift.

Ghost World Criterion Edition Blu-ray – $22.97

Released earlier this year, Ghost World has been given the Criterion treatment. Based on the cult-classic comic by Daniel Clowes, it’s the story of Enid (played by Thora Burch), a young woman who’s just recently graduated from high school and is trying to figure out what’s next. Set against the backdrop of consumerist suburbia, this cynical teen attempts to find herself by befriending lovable sad sack Seymour (Steve Buscemi). It’s a hilarious comedy that explores adolescent alienation with kitschy flare. Includes new interviews with the cast, director commentary, deleted scenes, and more.

Stranger Things Eggo Card Game – $34.99

There’s no denying that Stranger Things is a beloved television series. With two seasons under it’s belt, it’s safe to say the fan favourite character of the show is the mysterious Eleven. Viewers have marveled at the growth of her character as she learns to control her powers. Another thing people have latched onto is her love of Eggo Waffles. It’s become an integral part of her personality. So much so that we now have a fun card game just in time for the holidays. Get it for the ST fan in your household.

Black Panther Vol. 1 – A Nation Under Our Feet (HC) – $34.99

It’s a great time to be a Black Panther fan. We’re months away from the character’s solo movie debut. Also, for the first time in years, we’ve got a fantastic ongoing comic series to read. Written by Ta-Nehisi Coates with art from Brian Stelfreeze, the first 12 issues of the series are collected in this hardcover outlining the trials and tribulations of being king of a country in turmoil. We covered this comic earlier this year on Back issue Bloodbath and I stand by my comments that it is an interesting and exciting read.

Art of ATARI Hardcover – $39.99

Long before there was an Xbox or PlayStation, there was Atari. An innovator in video game entertainment, Atari created long lasting franchises that are still remembered to this day. Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command. These are classic that helped shape the world of electronic gaming. Probably the only thing more impressive than their contribution to the gaming world is the amazing artwork that accompanied those games. Whether it was box and cartridge art or illustrations for magazine ads, Atari sported some amazing artwork. This book is the first official look into the company’s illustrative accomplishments and spans four decades of material. Get in on the action.

Watchmen: The Annotated Edition – $49.99

With the recent release of Doomsday Clock, this is the perfect time to catch up on the miniseries that started it all with this new annotated edition. Printed in black and white with an extensive amount of annotations from Leslie S. Klinger, this book takes a deep dive into the world of Watchmen. It also includes a comic timeline, bibliography, and a new foreword by Dave Gibbons. I can see Alan Moore giving the finger to this book right now. Give the finger back by picking it up.

Ninja Gaiden: The Definitive Soundtrack Vol. 1+2 – $85.00

The classic music from the Ninja Gaiden games are collected in this multi record set. Volume 1 and 2 each contain 59 tracks and include all the music from both the arcade and Nintendo versions of Ninja Gaiden as well as Ninja Gaiden II and III. That’s 118 tracks to sooth your 8bit lovin’ soul. Each copy includes a digital download as well, so you don’t have to worry about wearing out the grooves from playing it all the time. It also features that sweet ninja artwork on the covers. Perfect for the retro gamer in your life.

Star Wars Droid Inventor Kit – $129.95

Ever wanted to build your own Droid. Now you can with this all inclusive kit from litteBits. They give you the means to put together your very own functioning droid. The kit also includes a companion app that contains video instructions, missions and controls. It’s got everything. With all this at your fingertips, you’ll have a much better time putting this droid together than Anakin Skywalker did on Tatooine, especially since you don’t have to worry about sandstorms.

DC Universe 10th Anniversary Collection – $179.68

For a decade, DC Animation has been putting out direct to DVD/Blu-ray features with some of our favourite superheroes. Many of them pay tribute to classic comic stories. Some have been really good. There’s also been a few stinkers. But overall, there’s been a great deal of fun to be had with the likes of Justice League: New Frontier, Wonder Woman, and the recently released Batman and Harley Quinn. Now you can own 30 of these great films (and 5 shorts) with this blu-ray collection. Makes a gift for the DC fanatic on your list.

DC Gallery Wonder Woman Bracelets, Lasso & Tiara Prop – $300.00

It’s no secret that Wonder Woman was one of the best superhero films of the year. It’s message of hope touched a lot of folks as that’s the sentiment we need in these trying times. I know a lot of women (and men) wanted to be Wonder Woman after they saw it. Now you can with this awesome set. This replica includes the bracelets, the lasso and the tiara. And unlike other replica superhero props, you can actually put this stuff on. If you’re not into cosplay, the set would also looks pretty cool on display in your home.
