Welcome back to Part 3 of the 2017 Geek Hard Holiday Gift Guide. Each Year, Mr. Green and I bring your our picks for the best gifts to buy the geek in your life. In parts One and Two of our guide, both Mr. Green and I showed you some gift options under $300 dollars. This week, I’ll be showing you some pretty cool stocking stuffers that are guaranteed to make any geek get pretty damn excited. What makes these suggestions even better is that they’re all priced under $30, so they won’t break your bank. Like the old Canadian Tire ads used to say, “You can give like Santa and save like Scrooge!”

GIFTS LESS THAN $30

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Baby Groot Playing Cards – $5.99

Who doesn’t love Baby Groot? The little guy got to shine in the opening credit sequence of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. His antics made us guffaw with laughter throughout the rest of the film as well. So why not give this standard deck of 52 playing cards? 52 cards with nothing but pictures of Groot! Makes losing that hand of poker almost fun…..almost.

Thor Knit Hat – $10.00

Speaking of another great superhero movie to hit the box office this year, your kid can reenact their favourite moments from Thor: Ragnarok while wearing this knit beanie, complete with Thor’s signature wings. Lets face it, the listing says the hat is for kids, but we know who you’re really buying it for.

Funko POP! Stranger Things Eleven with Electrodes – NYCC Exclusive – $11.99

Stranger Things Season 2 delivered this Fall even better than the first season. To say it’s a popular show would be an understatement. I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t want this cool Funko POP. Eleven is bad-ass. ‘Nuff Said.

Bob Ross Bobblehead – $12.95

Bob Ross was an inspiration for a generation of young painters. And his legacy lives on. I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve lost watching The Joy of Painting and hearing Bob’s hypnotic voice. The man was a master at painting practically the same forrest landscape over and over again. The best way to remember this icon is by giving the ones you love this fantastic likeness in bobblehead form. But don’t forget to paint a friend of the bobblehead. Bob would appreciate that.

Wonder Woman Blu-ray – $12.99

Fans were spoiled this year as we got a number of great superhero films that hit the mark with audiences around the world. Wonder Woman was definitely one of these as its message of hope and empowerment are very much needed. Gal Gadot is WONDERFUL as the Amazonian princess. And contrary to Back Issue Bloodbath host Sammy Younan’s opinion, that Steve Trevor is a pretty good guy as well.

Super Mario Turtle Mug – $14.99

Ah, the turtle shell. It’s cause many a multi car pile up on the old Mario Kart raceways. But now its powers are being used for good as a container for the beverage you’re about to enjoy. Drink up, my friends.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly 50th Anniversary Bluray. – $16.06

The shootouts. The mystery. That signature theme. This epic spaghetti western is a fun watch. Hell, Eli Wallach is worth the price of admission all by himself. You add in the haunting performance by Lee Van Cleef and a standard showing from that other guy, and you’ve got a great film. For the classic movie fan in your life.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm – $17.99

I know this may surprise you. A Batman movie made my list. This is the only theatrically released Batman film that I enjoy. The Phantasm is a compelling antagonist. Bruce Wayne has some personality. This is the only time I’ve ever found The Joker compelling. It’s a storytelling masterpiece. If every Batman story was this good, I might actually change my mind on the character.

The Oregon Trail Card Game – $29.99

As a member of the “Oregon Trail” sub-generation between Gen-X and Millennial, I dig this card game.  I especially like ’cause you don’t need a computer to play. Now two or more who gather can relive their childhood and die of dysentery in the safety of their own homes…..or at a friends….or in the park……or wherever!

Star Wars Millennium Falcon Multi-Tool Kit – $29.99

Now you don’t need an R2 unit to follow you around just in case you need to fix something. This set comes with four hex keys, two screwdrivers, and an adjustable wrench. For the handy Star Wars fan on the go. See Mom, Star Wars stuff can be practical!

So there’s 10 great stocking stuffer ideas for the geek or nerd in your life. Pick ’em up today and stuff away on Christmas Eve.
