Welcome friends to Back Issue Bloodbath, a comics-centric podcast presented by Geek Hard. Join hosts Andrew Young and Sammy Younan as they get down and dirty in the four-colour world of comic books, focusing on classic stories, new issues, comic creators and hot button topics.

This week on Bloodbath, we take a look back on the first Runaways series. Released as part of the Marvel Tsunami inprint in 2003, Runaways was created by Brian K Vaughan and Adrian Alphona. It’s the story of 6 teens who run away from their parents when they find out they are actually super villains that run the Los Angeles Underworld. Spanning 18 issues, this team of young rookies must learn to depend on one another as they attempt to bring their parents to justice. And hey, they even face a vampire and meet up with cult favourite heroes, Cloak and Dagger.

Take a listen as Andrew and Sammy look back on this Marvel series and discuss the book’s popularity which has lead lead to a television adaption and a comic book return. Sammy was a huge fan of the series when it first debuted. Andrew never read the series before getting ready for this episode. Hear each of their unique perspectives as they break down this comic in true Back Issue Bloodbath Fashion. It’s all coming your way on the latest episode of your favourite comic book themed podcast. Take a listen and enjoy the comic talk goodness you know only we can provide.
