Welcome friends to Back Issue Bloodbath, a comics-centric podcast presented by Geek Hard. Join hosts Andrew Young and Sammy Younan as they get down and dirty in the four-colour world of comic books, focusing on classic stories, new issues, comic creators and hot button topics.

When people talk of great comic runs of the 1970s and 80s, Frank Miller’s Daredevil, Wolfman and Perez’s Teen Titans, and Claremont and Byrne’s Uncanny X-Men are always mentioned. But just as great as these is the run that David Micheline had with Bob Layton on Iron Man. Creating stories like Demon in a Bottle and Armor Wars, Michelinie cemented his legacy in the comics world. But he didn’t stop there. He also had a legendary run on Amazing Spider-Man that spanned seven years! He even had a hand in some of the biggest Avengers stories of the time with John Byrne and George Perez. Not to mention, he also had some memorable moments working for the Distinguished Competition.

This week, on our creator spotlight, Andrew and Sammy look back on the career of David Michelinie. From killing Aquaman’s son to introducing us to Scott Lang, Venom, Taskmaster and more! We even talk about his controversial story for Avengers #200. If you want to know a thing or two about one of the greatest contributors to the Bronze and Modern ages of comics, you’ll want to listen to the latest episode of Bloodbath. David Michelinie, we salute you, sir.
