Originally Aired: 01/12/18 – Review The Commuter. We also talk with Helder Brum about Born with a Tale and with Sam Noir & Matthew Tavares of Victorian 4.

We speak with comedian Helder Brum via phone, to talk about his upcoming one-man show, Born with a Tale, at the John Candy Box Theatre at Second City in Toronto. The show will be playing for four nights (January 27th and 28th / February 3rd and 4th). The title of Helder’s performance is actually a misnomer as he has MANY tales to tell, each just as funny as the last. Storyteller and comedian, Helder Brum, realizes the power that an embarrassing time in your life can have over you, and that by sharing it, you get the power back. Helder shares 5 of his most embarrassing, funniest stories. For more info on Helder Brum, check out his website.

Our review of The Commuter starring Liam Neeson, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. Synopsis: Insurance salesman Michael is on his daily commute home, which quickly becomes anything but routine. After being contacted by a mysterious stranger, Michael is forced to uncover the identity of a hidden passenger on the train before the last stop. As he works against the clock to solve the puzzle, he realizes a deadly plan is unfolding, and he is unwittingly caught up in a criminal conspiracy that carries life and death stakes for everyone on the train.

We also speak with comic creators Sam Noir and Matthew Tavares, to talk about their comic, Victorian 4. Abraham Lincoln survives assassination as a vampire. Sherlock Holmes’ mind and intellect reside in the body of Frankenstein’s monster. Madame Curie’s experiments in radiation transform her into Mrs. Hyde. They are led by the legendary hammer-wielding John Henry. Together, they are the Victorian 4, and now, they must battle an alien conspiracy.

It was a great show!

Mr. Green

Host/Producer at Geek Hard
Mr. Green LOVES television. Actually quit Beavers as a child because he couldn't watch re-runs of Rat Patrol. The love didn't stop there, soon he discovered Tom Baker's Doctor Who... the rest, as they say, is history. When he isn't doing the radio version of Geek Hard each Friday @ 7pm on Reality Radio 101 or watching hours of TV, he tries in vain to sleep as much as possible.
