Captain’s Log. Stardate: This Friday!

This Friday, we boldly go where the show has never gone before! We’re celebrating all things Star Trek on this week’s show, and we won’t be the only ones. Andrew and Mr. Green will joined in studio by John Torres and Salley Christensen, two of the organizers of Star Trek Day T.O. – a celebration of Trek.

Star Trek Day T.O. will be held on Saturday, October 1st, at the Underground Cinema in Toronto. This event is being put on by the Nerd Mafia, of which Geek Hard is a member and strong supporters. The show will not only feature an all ages event with trivia, prize give-aways, costume contests, and a screening of Star Trek II – The Wrath of Con, as well as the 2009 reboot from that Bad Robot guy, but will be followed by an 19+ event that’ll included Star Trek-themed comedy, music and burlesque. Here’s a quick write up on Star Trek Day T.O.:

Why Star Trek? Star Trek represents a hopeful vision of the future — a future that promotes collaboration, inclusiveness and responsibility. Celebrating Star Trek not only honours the ground-breaking work the franchise has already done, it also shows our commitment to internalizing these values and making them reality.
