On this week’s 70 minute special, we get retro with our wrestling flicks, talk indie comics, and probably a few current ones as well.
Andrew and Mr. Green will not be taking these things on alone however, as they will entertain guests and gentlemen in their own regard. First up, joining the boys in studio will be Comic Book Daily’s Brent Chittenden. Brent is a freelance writer and podcaster whose known for talking about comics and the odd movie here and there. He’s also a big wrestling fan, and in honor of this, we’ll be taking a look back and discussing 3 wrestling films from the past: The gritty documentary Beyond the Mat, the light-hearted comedy Ready to Rumble, and the John Carpenter Classic, They Live (I know, technically not a wrestling film, but it’s got Roddy Piper in it, so good enough). Listen as 3 men get into the squared circle of the mind and dissect these films in true catch-as-catch-can fashion. Here’s a quik bio on Brent:
Brent Chittenden is a host and co-producer of Two Assholes Talking About Nerd Stuff. For three years TATANS has been dolling out episodes on pop culture, interviewing such geek celebrities as Max Brooks, Juliet Landau, Alan Cross and Joe Quesada as well as drunken dvd commentary tracks. When not in the middle of that circus, Brent is a freelance writer who has written for Bite TV’s Bite Daily Blog, Explore Music, Rethink Attractions and is currently a columnist with Canada’s fastest growing comic book info website, Comic Book Daily. He can be found at www.facebook.com/bcchittenden and on twitter at @BCNerdhole .
But in a world where one guest isn’t enough, we’ve got TWO coming your way. Joining the boys to promote his work in the independent comic, Totem Sacred, artist Rob Vellone will be on the program. Totem Sacred #2, from Uysfaber Comics, has now been released and Rob will be on to tell us what’s it all about. Join us as we talk pencils, inks and fine art. Here’s a quick bio on Rob:
Born and raised in Toronto, Rob Vellone has worked on Lessons Learned, The Black Bastard, Fifty State, and is currently one of the Artists on Totem Sacred. Enjoys Guinness, single malt scotch and cigars. Grew up on comics and credits The Amazing Spider-Man, Batman and Green Lantern for instilling in him, and solidifying his love of the art form.
