Okay so we are continuing down this road of festive cheer. After 2 great weeks of gift ideas – Holiday Gift Guide! Part 1 and Holiday Gift Guide! Part 2 now comes the “hey I gots oddles of cash how can I waste it on over priced trinkets of geek cool.” Well I’m glad you asked because I have such a list below. Check out some of the more costly gifts for this snow-less season (well around here there’s no snow at least, thankfully!).
Okay so let’s start off the list with the more affordable options…
I have never been much of a Xbox fan or Call of Duty but this just looks really cool. Now my friends who play say that MW3 is amazing so it’s perfect for the gamer in your life.
Farnsworth Artisan Hero Prop, FX Edition – $399.95
I am a fan o f Warehouse 13 and this is another great gift for fans of the show. Who doesn’t want to rock their own Farnsworth?
Lego Super Star Destroyer – $499.99
Really do I need to say anything here? This is just AWESOME SAUCE!
Thrustmaster T500 F1 Racing Wheel – $699.99
If you are going to enjoy a racing game then this is the ultimate in required accessories for you. Come on look at the steering wheel it is an exact replica of an actual Ferrari F1 race car.
Giant Swiss Army Knife – $849.99
WTF! I had to add this only because it was such an odd idea. How practical is this, really?
Stormtrooper Motorcycle Suit – $1,165.00
More Star Wars stuff… of course! Especially when it comes from good friend of the show David Pea of UD Replicas. He continues to make great looking fan gear for motorcycles. If Star Wars isn’t your cup of tea then try his Captain America, Tron or Batman suits.
As soon as I found this I couldn’t help but laugh and think if somebody out there was a really big fan of The Immortals then this might rock their boat. Just not me well except for the Princess Leia tribute here.
Serenity – The Big Damn Replica – $2,495.00
I love Firefly and I love Side show Collectibles… so what could be better then this great sculpt. Whedonites buy, buy, buy!
This unit is pretty solid for the price. All the options included are more then enough for the modest A/V enthusiast. HiFi snobs need look in the little nooks and cranny’s for the hardcore units they want. For me this would more then cover, all my needs and probably yours too.
I just can’t quit the Star Wars merch this year. Of all the posters I have seen for A New Hope this one really catches my eye. Not only because it’s a rarity to find cool looking illustrated work these days but also because the great Howard Chaykin did this promo poster. This is a two-fer of awesome if I ever saw one.
Pac Man Arcade Machine – $2,999.00
Old school arcade action! Pac-Man, Galaga and Dig Dug to name a few are you kidding me?! This is fantastic. I love arcade games and they are just not the same on a console.
Star Trek (2009) Enterprise Artisan Replica – $4,995.00
You’re so pretty. I don’t care if you didn’t like JJ Trek or not this is a sweet looking model.
Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft® Surface® – $8,400.00
Star Trek is getting closer and closer every year. This is a really cool idea hopefully Microsoft doesn’t screw it up… Windows ME anyone?
Are you kidding me with these, where’s the really pricey stuff!
Sony F65 4K Digital Motion Picture Camera – $65,000.00
For the uber rich weekend film maker… yeah right. This ain’t your mom & dad’s camcorder folks this is the Mike Tyson of digital film cameras. The best part is your home movies of the family picnic will look awesome on a 400ft screen.
This is ridiculous and awesome for it’s over the top attitude. $87k for a watch? Really? Ah hell why not it’s a good companion to my next gift idea since it’s waterproof up to 1000 feet.
Iguana 29 Yacht – $287,300.00
So I heard Q is in the new Bond film but will he be giving Daniel Craig one of these? And if not then why not? At first this looks really stupid until I start thinking of my dream of forming my own G.I. Joe special mission force. YO JOE!
King Kong Themed Home Theater Furniture – $$$$ Unknown
And lastly another over the top gift suggestion for film enthusiast. Who doesn’t want to sit in King Kong’s giant mitts. I have been a big fan of what Tom Spina does with his one of kind hand made designs for years. Check it out and get before it’s gone. BTW it does come with the TV included.
So that’s all I got. Come back next Wednesday as Andrew gives you his stocking stuffers of the finest in Geek Fare! If you are shopping last minute these should help.
And if you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
