This Weekend, myself and Mr. Green will be attending the 3rd Annual Wizard World Toronto Comic Con at the Metro Convention Centre. Being old hands at this, we know all the best stuff to check out at a con. But I know there are some people out there who might be attending their first convention, or who may’ve not mastered the time management involved in getting you’re money’s worth at a con. So to help  you out, I have put together a list of MUST SEE panels and workshops to check out at the show, guaranteed to make your convention experience that much more awesome, so check out the list below:

Saturday, April 14th

11:00 – 11:45AM
HOW TO FAIL IN COMICS

History is important. Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it. And that’s kind of what this panel is all about. Hosted by Big City Comics, How to Fail in Comics dissects the biggest successes and failures in the history of the Comics’ Industry. They’ll even be showing clips from the Documentary of same name, featuring interviews with comic legends like Neal Adams, Michael Golden and the Man himself, Stan Lee. Definitely the panel for comic historians and comic hopefuls. (Room A)

2:00 – 2:45PM
BEING HUMAN PANEL

Anybody that knows Geek Hard, knows that we love us some Being Human. The cast is always entertaining, hilarious and informative. Join cast members Sam Huntington, Sam Witwer, and Meaghan Rath (Geek Hard’s 2011 Guest of the Year) for a fun filled panel that will bring you behind the curtain on your favourite Space/Syfy show. The only downer to this panel is that it’s hosted by my rival, Teddy Wilson of InnerSPACE. Thankfully, I don’t think  even he can screw this one up. (Room A)

4:00 – 4:45PM
COMIC SCENE: 2012 PREVIEW

Check out some Toronto boys talk about the titles they’re helping bring to life: Ken Lashley (Batwing; Lucas Films), Marcus To (Batwing; The Huntress), Marco Rudy (Action Comics; Superboy), and arguably one of the greatest artists working today, Francis Manapul (The Flash; Adventure Comics). These guys will give the goods on all the new projects they’ve got coming. (Room B)

5:00 – 7:00PM
THE LAST STARFIGHTER SCREENING – WITH CATHERINE MARY STEWART AND LANCE GUEST

When I was a kid, The Last Starfighter was one of my favourite films. It’s been years since I watched it, but I’m sure it will be a real treat to see the flick again with the film’s stars Lance Guest and Catherine Mary Stewart. It’s the tale of Alex Rogan, a teenager who, after getting the top score on an Arcade Game, is taken to a far off galaxy to fight for the fate of the Universe in an intersellar war. What’s not to love with that plot. Classic Eighties fare. (Room A)

Sunday, April 15th

12:00 – 12:45PM
QUANTUM LEAP REUNION WITH SCOTT BAKULA AND DEAN STOCKWELL

This one seems like a no-brainer. The stars of Quantum Leap reunite for this panel that takes a look back at a fan favourite time travel series. Scott and Dean probably got stories that you won’t want to miss. And the panel is hosted by Electric Playground’s Shaun Hatton (a step up from the no good Teddy). (Room A)

So that’s the big hits you don’t want to miss at the show this Weekend. We hope you get to sample them all. But be sure to also take the time to check out Artists Alley as you never know what you might find. The next big stars of the comic industry are sitting right there. Meet the celeb guests. Buy some cool stuff. And we’ll be there as well, so if you see us, come up and say hi. We don’t bite…..well Mr. Green does, but he’ll be on his meds, I promise.

For a full schedule of the panels and events happening at the show, check out the Wizard World Toronto Comic Con website.

And if you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
