This week, we get proud of our heroic heritage and Talk ’bout some Movies.

On Friday’s show, Andrew and Mr. Green will once again be delivering their unique brand of entertainment over the internets…..but they won’t be alone! Joining them in studios will be the 2011 Geek Hard “Golden Grant” Award Winner, comic writer extraordinaire J Torres. J will be on for the whole show to trade wit with the boys and to discuss his new Comic book endeavor, True Patriot, an anthology book that features some great Canadian writers, artists and cartoonists creating super hero characters and stories that take place in the True North, Strong and Free! Listen and find out how you can help make this project a reality! There is an indiegogo campaign that just went live this week where they need to raise $20 Grand to make this happen. Be sure to donate to this very cool comic project and be sure to listen to this Friday to find out more. Here’s a quick rundown on the book:

True Patriot is a comic book anthology featuring Canadian superheroes written and drawn by some of your favourite Canadian comic book creators. Most of us working on this project grew up reading Alpha Flight, Captain Canuck, or Wolverine comics and we’ve always thought that there should be more Canadian superheroes out there. So, we’re putting together a 100-page, full-colour anthology for your reading pleasure (and ours)!

“We” being: Adrian Alpona (Runaways), Andy B. (Kill Shakespeare), J. Bone (Super Friends), Jack Briglio (Scooby Doo), Scott Chantler (Two Generals), Tom Fowler (Hulk: Season One), Agnes Garbowska (Girl Comics), Faith Erin Hicks (Adventure Time), Tim Levins (Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes), Ramon Perez (A Tale of Sand), Ron Salas (28 Days Later), Jay Stephens (Secret Saturdays), J. Torres (Teen Titans Go), Howard Wong (After the Cape).

But it’s not just Canadian Comics this week. We’ve also got not one, but TWO very big movies to talk about. First up is Looper, It’s been doing quite well at the box office so far. Is this film a smart and savvy action sci-fi? Or does it just keep going in circles? All will be Revealed this Friday.

Our second film is a hotly anticipated animated flick from the mind of Tim Burton. Don’t miss our review of Frankenweenie, hitting theatres this weekend. Will this be as well loved as The Nightmare before Christmas? Or will it be forgotten as quickly as The Corpse Bride. Take a listen this Friday and find out.

All this, plus the news and reviews that you’ve come to expect, right here on Geek Hard. Listen LIVE! @ 7pm Eastern, on www.realityradio101.com. Don’t stray too far away now….this one’s gonna be a RAGER!

And if you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!

Frankenweenie hits Theatres this Friday. Will this film about a dead dog be just that at the Box Office?
