4 years is a long time to rant and rave and ramble on. Somehow, we’ve managed to survive.
This Friday night, celebration fills the air as Geek Hard turns 4 years old on Reality Radio 101. Andrew and Mr. Green are celebrating the only way they know how…..by having an awards show! That’s right, this week marks the return of the 4th Annual Froggy Awards, recognizing excellence in the fine guests that have been kind enough to give their time for our little program.
The Froggy Awards originally found their home on the Second Friday in January as we like to start the year off with a bang. But after much deliberation with the board of directors at Reality Radio 101, they wanted us to have the Froggys smack dab in the middle of awards season. So since they pay the bills (meaning we have no choice) The Froggys have become a staple of the Geek Hard anniversary show. Who will take home a trophy? (no promises that there are actual trophies). Join Andrew and Mr. Green as they present honors to the best and brightest that Geek Hard spoke with in 2013 with the main event being Guest of the Year. The nominees this year are all fantastic and it’ll be a tight race to the finish this Friday.
Nominees for the Froggy Award recognizing Guest of the Year:
- Actor Sam Huntington (Being Human) – Episode 143 (January 2013)
- Actor Jordan Gavaris (Orphan Black) – Episode 156 (April 2013)
- Writers/Producers Dave Willis and Casper Kelly – Episode 158 (May 2013)
- Author Max Allan Collins – Episode 159 (May 2013)
- Actor Kris Holden-Ried (Lost Girl) – Episode 167 (July 2013)
One of these men will walk away with the braggin rights this Friday and you don’t want to miss that.
But that’s not the only thing that makes the Froggy Awards special. Returning once again to present the “Golden Grant” Award recognizing the achievement of Best Comic Creator Guest Appearance, writer J. Torres will be joining us in studio. There is no one more pleased than Mr. Torres to be associated with such a legitimate and prestigious award ceremony. J will also be on hand to help us kick off Comic Creator Month on Geek Hard. Be sure to catch his presentation this Friday.
But it wouldn’t be Geek Hard if we didn’t review something. Never fear, we got you covered with our review of The Lego Movie. Will this film be a fun-filled caper of excitement or will it run out of those little blue connector pieces before it’s all over? Listen this Friday to hear what our humble hosts have to say.
All this, plus the news and reviews that you’ve come to expect, right here on Geek Hard. Listen LIVE! This Friday at 7pm Eastern on the station that’s put up with our antics for 4 WHOLE YEARS! – www.realityradio101.com.
If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
