Welcome to the Jungle…..Book.
This Friday on Geek Hard, Andrew and Mr. Green take a look at a new take on a Disney Classic! Yes, in this era of “Everything Old is New AGAIN!”, Disney is once again bringing one of their beloved animated films to the live action realm. Don’t miss our review of The Jungle Book, in theatres this Friday.
The Jungle Book was originally written by Rudyard Kipling in 1894 which followed the life of Mowgli, a boy who is lost in the jungle at a very young age and is raised by the animals. The story has been adapted many times, most notably in 1967 by Disney as an animated feature. This isn’t the first time that Disney has tried their hand at telling a live action version of this story, as Jason Scott Lee starred in the 1994 film…..but let’s not think about that one.
This new take on the Jungle Book is directed by Jon Favreau and sports a voice cast (yes, even though it’s a live-action film, the animals still need someone to talk for them) which includes Idris Elba, Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken just to name a few. We’re still a few weeks away until the Summer Movie Season officially gets under way, but this could be a blockbuster if the film’s any good. Will this be an adaptation that lives up to the cartoon? Or will it be yet another trip down nostalgia lane that’s all sizzle, no steak? Find out this Friday when Andrew and Mr. Green give their two cents….or two bananas as it were.
All this, plus the news and reviews that you’ve come to expect…..and maybe even a few surprises, right here on Geek Hard. Listen LIVE! This Friday at 7pm Eastern on the station that wants to be like you, www.realityradio101.com.
If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
