Spaceships, and Dragons, and Conventions, Oh My!
Geek Hard brings you another really big show this Friday with guests and reviews galore! First up, joining Andrew and Mr. Green via phone will be a voice that fans of Killjoys (on Space and Syfy) have become quite accustomed to: Tamsen McDonough (aka Lucy, the AI spaceship). Tamsen will be on to chat with us about her on-camera appearance on last Friday’s episode as well as what’s upcoming for our favourite reclamation agents in the latter half of the season. What fun awaits us? Listen this Friday to find out. Here’s a quick bio on Tamsen:
Actor Tamsen McDonough continues her series regular role in season two of the hit sci-fi adventure series KILLJOYS, currently airing on Space (Canada) and SyFy (United States). Tamsen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and began her formal acting training at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Her love for acting started at a very early age when she played an orphan in her grade three production of Oliver Twist. From there, her acting bug fed on student films as well as shorts and indie projects.
Since then, Tamsen has appeared in various film and television projects. Outside the acting world, Tamsen enjoys activity dates with friends, like trapeze, archery and go-karting. She’s always on the hunt for great drag performances and the perfect mockumentary. She is also passionate about writing and has recently created the comedy web series MISS ODETTE’S MODERN HANDBOOK TO MANNERS in which she stars.
For more on Tamsen McDonough, follow her on Twitter and be sure to listen to our interview with her this Friday.
Also featured this week is a sneak peak on what to expect from this year’s Fan Expo Canada, happening September 1st to 4th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. We recently got the chance to chat with our good friend, one of the organizers of Fan Expo, James Armstrong. He’ll be filling us in on all the great guests and events that will be taking place this upcoming Labour Day weekend. Listen this Friday to find out all about it!
And that’s not all! We’ll also be giving our review of the latest Disney remake, Pete’s Dragon. It looks like this version of the film will be very different from the original. (Things just won’t be the same without a drunk Mickey Rooney.) Will it surpass it’s predecessor? Or will it be just another sad retread of old material? Find out what Andrew and Green think this Friday.
All this, plus the news and reviews that you’ve come to expect, right here on Geek Hard. Listen LIVE! This Friday at 7pm Eastern on the station that’s still waiting for that “Dragon in Outer Space” film, www.realityradio101.com.
If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
