Welcome Friends and movie lovers to Season TWO of Terry Knows Movies. Terry Huddleston is an artist who can be found showcasing his artwork at conventions and shows across North America. He’s also a ravenous consumer of movies and a bit of an armchair critic. Let Terry share his knowledge with you as mixes old school and new school nerd knowledge to tell you exactly why a particular movie rocked or sucked.

There’s no denying it, the current output from Hollywood these days deals mostly with known franchises and intellectual properties. The sheer number of sequels, remakes and Reboots coming our way is astounding. There are very few original ideas making their way to mainstream cinema. We live in an age of nostalgia. It’s also an age of fear for the big movie studios that believe in order to make money, you have to use a known commodity.

This week, Terry takes a look at the current state of Hollywood’s franchise system and gives his two cents on the why and what his hope for the future are regarding the matter. He also points to a certain Pixar film from 2015 that proves that you can still make good films based on original ideas and make some bank at the box office without having to go the sequel route.
