We speak with filmmaker Ferne Pearlstein to talk about her documentary, The Last Laugh, which explores taboos in humour through the lens of the Holocaust. Featuring interviews with top comics Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Sarah Silverman, Gilbert Gottfried, Harry Shearer, Jeff Ross, Alan Zweibel, Judy Gold, Susie Essman and Larry Charles, along with Holocaust survivors and critical thinkers, this film looks at important subject matter while still being funny. Ferne talks to us about the movie, now playing in New York and opening in L.A. on March 17th (with a national rollout planned as well).

Our review of Kong: Skull Island starring Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson & Brie Larson. Synopsis: Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ “Kong: Skull Island” reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

We also talk with a longtime friend of Geek Hard, Toronto ComiCon organizer James Armstrong who’ll be on to tell us all about this year’s convention, which takes place March 17th to 19th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. TORONTO COMICON as presented by FAN EXPO CANADA™ is a spectacular 3 day event! Located in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the show will be boasting unique exhibitors, presentations, workshops and many celebrity guests.
