This week, we talk about a fan favourite comic series, look back on a space opera, and say FU to TV. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
Don’t miss this Friday’s Geek Hard where we’ll be joined by two very special guests. Calling into the program will be long time friend of the show, artist Dan Brereton. Dan has had an amazing career in the world of comics, drawing a host of different characters. But his first love will always be his creation, Nocturnals. A brand new Nocturnals story, The Sinister Path, is coming to comic shops this June. He’ll be on to tell us all about it. Here’s a quick bio on Dan Brereton:
Dan Brereton is one of a bare handful of painters left in the industry who still do comics full time. Just barely out of art school, Dan burst onto the scene in 1989 with the award winning BLACK TERROR miniseries (Eclipse Comics) and hasn’t looked back since. Brereton gained further attention for his work on Batman: Thrillkiller, Superman and Batman: Legends of the World’s Finest, and JLA: Seven Caskets, His most famous work is his own series “The Nocturnals.
For more info on Dan Brereton’s latest Nocturnals, check out the April Previews catalog, and listen to our show this Friday.
Also calling in on Friday will be another long time friend of the show, television producer and writer Steve Kerzner. The creator of Ed the Sock is branching into new media with his online network, FU. The channel launched it’s premiere show, Live from Canada, It’s Ed the Sock, late last year and more programing is on the way. The FU Network’s goal is to bring back the programing style of the former Much Music. Steve will be on to talk about what to expect from FU and how you can help make it happen.
Check out the FU Youtube Channel and be sure to listen this Friday to find out more.
All this AND we still have MORE! It’s been 40 years since we first heard about events that took place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. This Friday, we’ll be giving our salute to Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. There’s been many a things said about Star Wars on our show over the years, but it’s safe to say that this will probably be the biggest homage we’ve ever given to the franchise. It’s also safe to say that Han shot first, but you already knew that. Be sure to listen this Friday for our retrospective on A New Hope.
All this, plus the news and reviews that you’ve come to expect, right here on Geek Hard. Listen LIVE! This Friday at 7PM Eastern on the station that has no problem saying F.U., www.realityradio101.com.
If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
