This week’s episode is all about knowing everything, having trust issues, and little green lumps.

Don’t miss this Friday’s show as we’ll be talking with two very interesting guests. First up, returning to our program via phone will be Christian Lipski, one third of The PDX Broadsides. This Portland based nerd band is in the middle of a successful kickstarter campaign that’s funding their next album, Trust Issues, which focuses on things that scare them. Other themes covered on the album include: geekery, social justice, feminism, and self-esteem. Christian will be on to tell us all about it and inform us on which stretch goals they’ve yet to unlock. Here’s a quick bio on Christian:

Christian has been a comics journalist, a judge for the 2014 Eisner Awards, and a tech support engineer. He plays drums, listens to David Bowie, and acts as a pirate in PDXYAR, but is very bad at video games.

You can check out the kickstarter campaign for Trust Issues HERE! Be sure to listen to our interview with Christian this Friday to find out more.

Our second guest is author Jeff Vandermeer. Best known for his Southern Reach Trilogy, Jeff will be on to tell us all about his new book, Borne, which hits bookstores this week. Here’s a quick synopsis on Borne:

In Borne, a young woman named Rachel survives as a scavenger in a ruined, dangerous city of the near future. The city is littered with discarded experiments from the Company and punished by the unpredictable attacks of a giant bear. From one of her scavenging missions, Rachel brings home Borne, who is little more than a green lump (plant or animal?) but exudes a strange charisma. Rachel feels a growing attachment to Borne, a protectiveness that she can ill-afford. It’s exactly the kind of vulnerability that will upend her precarious existence, unnerving her partner, wick, and upsetting the delicate balance of their unforgiving city – possibly forever.

To find out more about Borne, catch our interview with Jeff this Friday.

As per usual, we’ve also got a movie review coming your way! Join Andrew and Mr. Green as they give their thoughts on The Circle, the new movie starring Emma Watson and Tom Hanks, which hits theatres this Friday. It’s got Tom Hanks in it. That can only mean that Andrew will have more than a few negative things to say. You don’t want to miss that.

All this, plus the news and reviews that you’ve come to expect, right here on Geek Hard. Listen LIVE! This Friday at 7PM Eastern on the station that you can trust to not lead you in circles, www.realityradio101.com.

If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!

Will knowing about The Circle be better? Find out this Friday.
