Our review of The Book of Henry starring Naomi Watts, Jaeden Lieberher and Jacob Tremblay. Synopsis: Single mother Susan Carpenter works as a waitress alongside her feisty family friend Sheila. Taking care of everyone and everything in his own way is Susan’s older son Henry. Protective of his brother and a tireless supporter of his often self-doubting mother, Henry blazes through the days like a comet. When Susan discovers that the family next door harbors a dark secret, she’s surprised to learn that Henry has devised a plan to help the young daughter.
We talk with artist Nick Craine. Nick has been an illustrator for many years and has worked as both a commercial artist and comic creator. He’s adapted two of director Bruce McDonald’s films (Dance Me Outside and Hard Core Logo) into graphic novels. Hard Core Logo: Portrait of a Thousand Punks celebrated it’s 20th anniversary this year and was released in May. Nick talks with us about making the book and his thoughts on who he is the most like from the story. About the book – Joe Dick coaxes his former bandmates to overcome personal differences and reunite for a benefit concert for their ageing punk mentor, Bucky Haight, who has been shot. But the concert’s not enough for Joe; he wants the band to hit the road again. For the Hard Cores this means the beginning of the end, and they come to realize that they can neither relive nor alter the past.
