We talk about the news of the week. DC/WB animation announces Batman: Gotham by Gaslight next up for the studio. Matt Reeves director of the upcoming Batman film states that he won’t use the Johns/Affleck/Terrio script for the film. Audio platform Soundcloud, according to reports has only 50 days of financing left before they are bankrupt.

Our review of War for the Planet of the Apes starring Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson and Steve Zahn. Synopsis: Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both of their species and the future of the planet.

We talk with writer Kelly Thompson. Kelly is the current scribe for Hawkeye at Marvel Comics. When we say Hawkeye, we mean Kate Bishop (aka the cooler Hawkeye). Just wanted make that distinction as there’s more than one Hawkeye running around. Kelly will be on to talk about the adventures of this fantastic archer hero from the House of Ideas, along with all the other great comic work she’s currently writing. Kelly Thompson’s ambitions are eclipsed only by her desire to exist entirely in pajamas. Fortunately pajamas and writers go hand in hand (most of the time). Kelly has a fancy degree in Sequential Art from The Savannah College of Art & Design and has published two novels (THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING and STORYKILLER) and the graphic novel HEART IN A BOX from Dark Horse Comics. She’s currently writing HAWKEYE and STAR WARS: PHASMA for Marvel Comics, JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS and THE MISFITS for IDW.

It was a great show!
