Welcome everyone to another episode of Don’t Make Me Watch That! – A podcast that celebrates movies and tears them down all in one sitting. Hosted by Andrew Young and Leslie Hudson, each episode presents the critique of a film from the long or recent past that one of us hates and the other one loves. Andrew and Leslie will do what they do best: fight and debate and make fun of one another. It’s all in good fun and for the love of FILM!

On Don’t Make Me Watch That, the main goal is usually comedy. We want to make you laugh at our ridiculous arguments with each other.  That’s not the case this time round as we talk about Garden State from 2004. Written, directed by, and starring Zach Braff, Garden State is the story of a quietly troubled young man who returns home for his mother’s funeral after being estranged from his family for a decade. The movie is about awakenings, epiphany and the importance of feeling life. Andrew does not feel this message is properly conveyed. Leslie sees it as a perfect film.

Unlike most times, there are strong feelings for this movie on both sides of the table. There is serious debate and no real room for jokes (we do get a few in at the beginning and the end, though).

Listen as our two combatants argue the merits of Garden State. Enjoy.
