We talk about the news of the week. Disney finalizes it’s deal to buy the entertainment parts of 21st Century Fox for $56 Billion bringing Star Wars, Alien & most of Marvel under it’s banner. The announcement that Ed brubaker’s & Sean Phillips Image comic Kill or Be Killed will be made into a film with John Wick director Chad Stahelski.
Our review of Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and Mark Hamill. Synopsis: Luke Skywalker’s peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he encounters Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force. Her desire to learn the ways of the Jedi forces Luke to make a decision that changes their lives forever. Meanwhile, Kylo Ren and General Hux lead the First Order in an all-out assault against Leia and the Resistance for supremacy of the galaxy.
We also speak with returning guest Will Perkins he has been on previously to talk movies with the guys. This time, he joins us to talk about the work he does with Art of the Title, a website that looks at the title sequences of various movies and television shows.Will Perkins is a freelance film and game journalist and public relations professional based in Toronto, Ontario. Will studied Political Science and Cinema Studies at the University of Toronto and has contributed to such outlets as Yahoo Movies, DorkShelf.com, Design Bureau, Kill Screen, Maxim, and Empire Movies. He has interviewed the likes of Quentin Tarantino, Peter Jackson, Guillermo del Toro, Scarlett Johansson, Alfonso Cuaron, Olivier Assayas, Miss Piggy, and others. Will is also editor-in-chief of genre culture site Dork Shelf and has been an editor at Art of the Title since 2011.
