Welcome friends to Back Issue Bloodbath, a comics-centric podcast presented by Geek Hard. Join hosts Andrew Young and Sammy Younan as they get down and dirty in the four-colour world of comic books, focusing on classic stories, new issues, comic creators and hot button topics.
This week on Back Issue Bloodbath, it’s an on location episode at the Toronto ComiCon! Andrew sits down with a talented artist to discuss his work. That artist is Joe Eisma. It’s been almost 6 years since the last time Andrew got to chat with him, on an episode of Geek Hard. At that time, he had just done a year’s worth of issues on the series Morning Glories, written by Nick Spencer and released through Image Comics. Since then, Morning Glories has reached 50 issues and is on a hiatus. When will it return? Joe addresses this in the interview. Andrew and Joe also chat about his current work on The Archies as well as a few teases on what’s next. There’s a few things on the horizon for this illustrator.
But that’s not all as Andrew and Sammy have a quick discussion on what titles they hope to see Joe work on in the future. We also screw up the lines repeatedly to the Willie Nelson classic, On the Road Again. That’s what you’re suppose to do at conventions, right? Screw up the lyrics to a classic country song? It’s another special Back Issue Bloodbath On the Road and it’s waiting for you. Give it a listen right now.
