Originally Aired: 03/30/18 – We review Ready Player One. We also speak with actor Elena V. Wolfe of the new show Star Falls and with writer Cecil Castellucci about Shade, The Changing Girl and the current Shade, The Changing Woman.

To start the show off we have a quick clip from Toronto ComiCon with Megan Follows of Anne of Green Gables, Reign and the upcoming season of Wynonna Earp.

We speak with actor Elena V. Wolfe. Elena is one of the stars of the new Nickelodeon series Star Falls. She’ll be on to tell us all about it and more. Elena V. Wolfe fell in love with acting at a very young age watching her favourite TV shows. Her first introduction to performing came in the form of a high school musical when she was cast as evil step sister Lucinda in Into the Woods. Her acting would take a backseat however when she received a scholarship to play tennis at the University of Virginia. After college, her acting career would resurface when she landed her first role in The Bridge on FX. Shortly after, Elena joined the cast of the hit sci-fi Defiance on Syfy and Space.

Our review of Ready Player One starring Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke and Ben Mendelsohn. Synopsis: From filmmaker Steven Spielberg comes the science fiction action adventure “Ready Player One,” based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller of the same name, which has become a worldwide phenomenon. The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.

We also speak with comic writer and YA Novelist Cecil Castellucci. Cecil is the author of the comic series Shade, The Changing Girl and the recent Shade, The Changing Woman part of the Young Animal imprint at DC Comics. Cecil Castellucci is the author of books and graphic novels for young adults including Boy Proof, The Plain Janes, The Year of the Beasts, Tin Star, and the Eisner nominated Odd Duck. In 2015 she co-authored Moving Target: A Princess Leia Adventure.  She is currently writing Shade, The Changing Girl, an ongoing comic on Gerard Way’s Young Animal imprint at DC Comics.
