Originally Aired: 04/06/18 – We review A Quiet Place. We also speak with documentary filmmaker Michael Sparaga about United We Fan and we also speak with sketch duo Parker and Seville and their appearance at Geek Hard LIVE!

This episode marks the return the of the Geek Hard Music Club with Kraken Not Stirred’s new song “I Rolled a 20 When I Met You”.

We speak with documentary filmmaker Michael Sparaga. Michael will be on to chat about his new documentary, United We Fan, which will be playing at this year’s Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto. The film focuses on the history and evolution of fans trying to save their favourite shows from cancellation. From the letter writing campaigns of yesteryear to the social media and crowdfunding of today, it’s all covered in this doc.

Our review of A Quiet Place starring Emily Blunt, John Krasinski and Millicent Simmonds. Synopsis: In the modern horror thriller A QUIET PLACE, a family of four must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you.

We also speak with the sketch duo of Parker and Seville. These two funny cats will be on to help us prepare for this month’s Geek Hard LIVE! live at Comedy Bar in Toronto on Saturday, April 14th. Where we will be joined by cast members from Killjoys and some great comedy acts, including this amazing sketch pairing. We’ll get you ready for this twice a year treat and more! Parker & Seville have been at it for 10 years, performing at TOSketchfest many times and occasionally winning awards* for doing so, either as Parker & Seville or as members of the sketch sextet O Dat Dum. They’ve also released an album, ‘Side Sizzle’, which you can acquire on iTunes or Bandcamp. Dave is the tech correspondent for The Beaverton on Comedy Network, and also writes for The Beaverton website. Parker & Seville have performed in Chicago, New York City, Boston, Montreal, Ottawa and, uh, Hamilton. They live in the same house in the Junction, with Matt’s cats, Jack and Bender, and Dave’s family. To get tickets to Geek Hard LIVE, go HERE!
