This week, we talk about new worlds, pesky pets and home invasions!

Don’t miss this Friday’s episode of Geek Hard as Andrew and Mr. Green return for another live show with 100% more power. (There was a power outage at the studio last week for those who don’t know.) We’re kicking off Geek Hard’s “Comic Creator Month” in a big way!

This Friday’s Episode is a Toronto Comic Arts Festival Preview as all of our guests will be at TCAF this weekend. British Cartoonist Chris Reynolds will join us via phone to talk about a new collection of his work entitled The New World. Here’s a quick write up from Penguin Random House Canada on this collection:

After losing a mysterious intergalactic war, Earth is no longer in humanity’s control. Blandly friendly aliens lurk on the margins and seem especially interested in the mining industry. The very rules of time and space seem to have shifted: Mysterious figures suddenly appear in childhood photos, family members disappear forever without warning, power outages abound, and certain people gain the power of flight. A helmeted man named Jimmy is somehow causing local businesses to shutter and is being closely watched by the “trendy new police force,” Rational Control. The world is being remade, but in what image?

For more on The New World, be sure to listen to our interview with Chris Reynolds this Friday.

Also joining us by phone is Caitlin Major and Kelly Bastow to tell us all about Manfried the Man, a comic where cats live the lives of humans and men are their pets. Here’s a quick write up on this Graphic Novel.

Manfried is a stray taken in by Steve Catson, a slacker with a dead-end job and nonexistent love life. Soon Manfried becomes the Garfield to Steve’s Jon Arbuckle: lazy, selfish, and sometimes maddening in his weird human behavior. Yet the pair depends on each other to get through life’s troubles. When Manfried runs away, Steve musters his meager resources to find his best man-friend and bring him home safe. Ultimately, both Steve and Manfried realize they’re capable of so much more than they thought.

Manfried the Man is available now. To hear more about it, don’t miss this Friday’s show.

As usual, we have another movie review coming your way. Breaking In, starring Gabrielle Union, opens this week is the story of a woman who must protect her family during a home invasion. Will it be a thrill ride? Or will it be just another home invasion movie? Find out what we think this Friday.

All this, plus the antics you’d expect, right here on Geek Hard. Listen LIVE! This Friday at 7PM Eastern on the station that’s always been your gateway to a new world, www.realityradio101.com.

If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!

Will this movie be a “mother” to get through? Find out this Friday.
