Originally Aired: 07/13/18 – Our review of Skyscraper. We speak with artist Dan Brereton of Batman: Thrillkiller 20th Anniversary Edition. Also have in studio Sam Noir and Casey Parsons to talk about their Kickstarter Cauldron.
We talk comic artist (and longtime friend of the show) Dan Brereton! Dan will be on to chat about the re-release of Batman: Thrillkiller, now available in a new special edition trade paperback. This trade includes never-before-published behind-the-scenes artwork by Brereton. We had Thrillkiller writer Howard Chaykin on to talk about this book last month. Dan talks about the book and his other project out now the Nocturnals Anniversary Art Book for the Hero Initiative. It’s in support of a great cause.
Our review of Skyscraper starring Dwayne Johnson, Neve Campbell and Pablo Schreiber. Synopsis: Former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford now assesses security for skyscrapers. He’s on assignment in China when he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he’s been framed for it. A wanted man on the run, Will must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family, which is trapped inside the building, above the fire line.
We speak in the studio with indie comic creators Sam Noir and Casey Parsons. Sam and Casey tell you all about their new comic endeavour: Cauldron, a mature reader, supernatural-themed, magazine format comics anthology. (Tried to say that 5 times fast!) Working as a collective, they are currently running a Kickstarter campaign to finance the printing of the first issue, due out this Fall. MONSTERS! WITCHES! BARBARIANS! OH MY. A young barbarian enters a forbidden temple to rescue the love of his life, with unexpected consequences. An ambitious King must face down 3 evil Witches… and the power of Satan himself. An Elderly Blind Woman is all that stands between a rampaging Kaiju and the total destruction of Tokyo in the steampunk industrial age. 32 interior story pages of lavish, full-colour artwork in a luxurious 8″ x 10.5″ inch slick magazine. For more info on Cauldron, support their Kickstarter campaign.
It was a great show!
