Welcome friends to Back Issue Bloodbath, a comics-centric podcast presented by Geek Hard. Join hosts Andrew Young and Sammy Younan as they get down and dirty in the four-colour world of comic books, focusing on classic stories, new issues, comic creators and hot button topics.
Brian Michael Bendis is writing Superman! Unless you’ve living under a rock somewhere, you probably already knew that the former Marvel poster boy is now writing for the Distinguished Competition. DC Comics officially welcomed Bendis to their fold earlier this year but it wasn’t until this past June where we began to feel the effects of it. To prep readers for Bendis’ take on Sups, DC released The Man of Steel, a six week miniseries that introduced us to Clark Kent’s latest foil: Rogol Zaar. Zaar is big, bad and hellbent on killing off any and all Kryptonians that didn’t die with their planet’s destruction. Meanwhile, there’s a number of fires being set in Metropolis and the man of tomorrow needs to get to the bottom of it. It’s safe to say that Superman is very busy in Bendis’ new series.
Join Andrew and Sammy this week as they take a look at The Man of Steel and give you their thoughts. They also chime in on what they think of Bendis’ take on writing Batman and the rest of the Justice League. All in a day’s work for your friendly neighbourhood Back Issue Bloodbath. Enjoy.
