Originally Aired: 08/10/18 – Our review of The Meg. We speak with Sean Baek of Killjoys and we also talk with TIFF’s Midnight Madness Programmer Peter Kuplowsky.

Show Notes:

We speak with actor Sean Baek, better known as Fancy Lee on Killjoys. Sean talks about the fourth season and tells a few fun stories from behind the scenes on the Killjoys set. Sean Baek started his acting career in theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, after graduating from York University’s Theatre program with an Honors degree. While continuing to develop as an actor and building a body of work in Theatre, Film, TV, Commercials, and Voice, he was selected from a national search as a member of a prestigious professional development/training program for classical theatre – the Birmingham Conservatory at the Stratford Festival of Canada in 2005. Sean spent three seasons at Stratford. He has lent his voice to radio dramas for CBC and a few video games.

Our review of The Meg starring Jason Statham, Bingbing Li and Rainn Wilson. Synopsis: A massive creature attacks a deep-sea submersible, leaving it disabled and trapping the crew at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. With time running out, rescue diver Jonas Taylor must save the crew and the ocean itself from an unimaginable threat — a 75-foot-long prehistoric shark known as the Megalodon.

We also speak with Toronto International Film Festival programmer Peter Kuplowsky. Peter will be on to tell us about this year’s Midnight Madness program which is an annual celebration of genre films at TIFF. We can’t wait to find out what’s in store for us at this year’s festival. To find out more about this year’s program and get tickets visit the TIFF website.
