This week, we learn about awesome groups of women throughout history and maybe lose our minds!
Don’t miss this Friday’s episode of Geek Hard as Andrew and Mr. Green bring another show of great content. Joining Andrew and Mr. Green via phone is author and video game writer Sam Maggs. Sam returns to our show to talk about her new book, Girl Squads: 20 Female Friendships that Changed History, available October 2, 2018. This is Sam’s third book for Quirk Books and is the perfect follow up to her last one, Wonder Women. Just as that book celebrated amazing women throughout history, this one celebrates teams of women working together. Here’s a quick bio on Sam:
Sam Maggs is a bestselling writer of books, comics, and video games. She’s a Senior Writer for Insomniac Games; the author of THE FANGIRL’S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY, WONDER WOMEN, and GIRL SQUADS (Oct. 2, 2018), all published by Quirk Books and distributed by Penguin Random House; a contributor to BioWare’s highly-anticipated game ANTHEM; and she’s written for comics like STAR TREK and JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS. A Canadian in Los Angeles, she misses Coffee Crisp and bagged milk.
For more on Girl Squads, be sure to check out our interview with Sam Maggs this Friday!
We’ve also got another review coming your way as we look at Maniac, now streaming on Netflix. “Two struggling strangers connect during a mind-bending pharmaceutical trial involving a doctor with mother issues and an emotionally complex computer.” Will we struggle to get to the end of the season? Find out what we think this Friday as Andrew and Green give their honest opinions.
Not a bad way to end off Geek Hard’s Patreon month. If you haven’t become a patron, what are you waiting for?
All this, plus the news and reviews that you’ve come to expect, right here on Geek Hard. Listen LIVE! This Friday at 7PM Eastern on the station that can be a little maniacal, www.realityradio101.com.
If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
