Originally Aired: 10/05/18 – Our review of Venom. We also speak with Programmer Christian Burgess about Toronto After Dark Film Festival.

Show Notes:

We talk the news of the week. We know, Mr. Green was shocked too! Battle of the fandoms as the internet blows up ahead of the releases of Venom and A Star is Born. Batman Damned caused controversy over-sexualized content so we look at some previously banned titles. The possible return of Toys ‘R’ Us to America as the current owners stop the sale of the brands as part of bankruptcy proceedings. Back issue Bloodbath co-host Sammy Younan joins us in studio.

Our review of Venom starring Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed. Journalist Eddie Brock is trying to take down Carlton Drake, the notorious and brilliant founder of the Life Foundation. While investigating one of Drake’s experiments, Eddie’s body merges with the alien Venom — leaving him with superhuman strength and power. Twisted, dark and fueled by rage, Venom tries to control the new and dangerous abilities that Eddie finds so intoxicating.

We also speak with Programmer Christian Burgess to run down the full schedule for the 13th Annual Toronto After Dark Film Festival. We’ll let you know about all the films coming to this year’s fest and which ones we’re most excited for! You can check out the entire schedule and get tickets at torontoafterdark.com.
