Welcome friends to Back Issue Bloodbath, a comics-centric podcast presented by Geek Hard. Join hosts Andrew Young and Sammy Younan as they get down and dirty in the four-colour world of comic books, focusing on classic stories, new issues, comic creators and hot button topics.
This week on a special episode of Bloodbath, Andrew and Sammy take a look back on one of the greatest X-Men comics of all time: Days of Future Past. The swan song of Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s legendary run on Uncanny X-Men, this story further cemented the duo’s legacy. It also set up a number of characters and plots within the world of Xavier’s merry mutants for decades. The effects of Days of Future Past are felt in the writing of the X-Men to this very day. And it’s only two issues in length.
Join Andrew and Sammy as they dissect this beloved story and break down it’s lasting esteem within the heart of fans. Recorded on the road, the guys put this episode together in the heart of the Whitby Comic Arts Festival (WhitCAF), which went down on Saturday, November 17th at the Whitby Public Library. A special thanks to the WhitCAF staff for having us.
Also, to make this episode extra special, Andrew reads a message from the one and only Joe Quesada. Two weeks ago, we released an episode celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Marvel Knights Imprint. Joe Q was kind enough to give that episode a listen and provide his commentary on it. Be sure to listen to the end of the episode to hear him clarify a few things.
It’s all waiting for you on our Days of Future Past episode of Back Issue Bloodbath!
