Originally Aired: 12/21/18 – We review Bumblebee. We talk with hip-hop artist More or Les. Plus the news of the week!

Show Notes:

We talk the news of the week. Fricking Lasers! – Scientists want to build a massive laser array to propel exploratory spacecraft into other galaxies. University of Washington scientists have experimented with genetically modified houseplants to remove dangerous toxins from the air. The head of Disney+ streaming service says he wants to revive cancelled Netflix/Marvel shows on the streamer after it launches.

Our review of Bumblebee starring Hailee Steinfeld, Dylan O’Brien and Justin Theroux. On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee the Autobot seeks refuge in a junkyard in a small California beach town. Charlie, on the brink of turning 18 years old and trying to find her place in the world, soon discovers the battle-scarred and broken Bumblebee. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns that this is no ordinary yellow Volkswagen.

We also talk with hip-hop artist More Or Les about his latest album, Nerd Love. Les has been a long time friend of the show. Oddly enough, even though we’ve featured his music on our program for many years, this is the first interview we’ve done with him on the air. Toronto DJ, Producer, Rap veteran More Or Les returns after the critically-acclaimed 2016 release “Blow The Fuck Up But Stay Humble” and 2017 B-Movie-inspired beat tape “Big Lunch in Little China” with “Nerd Love”, released by left-of-centre indie rap label Hand’Solo Records. Les is also a DJ/co-host at the monthly Toronto Hip Hop showcase 5 Dollar Rap Show with the Wordburglar, has a DJ residency at several bars in the T-Dot core, and is co-host/DJ of the media-attention-grabbing Hip Hop Karaoke. For more on More or Les, check out his website.

It was a great show!
