Welcome to another edition of New Comics, where we give our suggestions on what books to pick up when perusing the comic shelves week to week. As always, I am joined by  Kris Johnson. Read on to find the best of what the comic shop has in store for you this week.

BABYTEETH: YEAR ONE HC $39.99 (Aftershock)Jingle Bells / Clark’s from Hell / but really only half / His mom’s a teen / Grandma’s real mean / but his aunt’s a huge bad ass! // Year One has been a blast / it went by really fast / Cates and Brown have both been great and here’s hoping it’ll last! Hey! (Kris)

KLAUS AND THE CRYING SNOWMAN #1 $7.99 (Boom) – Oh, hey! Kris did a carol for his first entry. Neat. Anyways, Christmas is full of traditions. One of the more recent ones would have to be Grant Morrison adding to his epic Klaus saga with each passing year. We’re covering the original Klaus miniseries this week on Back Issue Bloodbath. The series came out a few years back and every year since, Boom usually drops a one-shot around this time to get all festive on your ass! This year, Klaus helps an absentee dad-turned-snowman make amends and fights off a bunch of Norse Gods. That’s my kinda holiday! (Andrew)

THE DEFENDERS: BEST DEFENSE #1 $4.99 (Marvel)The Hulk is green / Namor’s sorta green / Surfer is silver and Strange make a team / Defenders are defendin’ / and all is right with the world. (Christmas in Killarney) (Kris)

SUPER SONS OMNIBUS HC $75.00 (DC Comics) – Oh, Kris did another Christmas carol. I’m sensing a trend here. This is probably the last one. There’s no way he can keep this up for the whole thing. But you all should keep up with your reading. May I suggest this omnibus filled with some fun stories staring the sons of Batman and Superman? This new dynamic duo gets into some crazy high jinks that’s guaranteed to entertain. Funny enough, we did an episode of Back Issue Bloodbath on this series last year. Give it listen and pick up this book! (Andrew)

DEAD MAN LOGAN #2 (OF 12) $3.99 (Marvel)Good ol Wolverine crawled out / from under his demons / He knew death was near about / Making all things even // Brightly shone his claws that night / Though some’d call him cruel / When Quentin Beck comes in sight / He’ll skewer that poor foo-ooo-ell! (Good King Wenceslas) (Kris)

FREEDOM FIGHTERS #1 (OF 12) $3.99 (DC Comics) – He’s really going for it. That’s three songs in a row. Well, let’s get away from singing and get on with my next pick. It’s time once again to visit an Earth where the Nazis won. No, I’m not talking about Trump’s America. I’m talking about Earth X. Twenty years after invading the States, the Nazis killed off all meta-humans, including the original Freedom Fighters. Now in present day, a new crop of Freedom Fighters has risen to take on the occupying baddies once again! Punch those Nazis! (Andrew)

HARDCORE #1 $3.99 (Image)Drake’s dreaming / of someone’s breakfast / but not the one he used to know / he’s hijacked some body that’s not his body / now he’s stuck with nowhere else to go. // Drake’s dreaming / up a fast exit / He’s only 3 days left to go / when the time is over his life is over / so he’s looking for someone in the know. (White Christmas) (Kris)

LOVE TOWN #1 $4.99 (Devils Due) – I hope Kris doesn’t expect me to do a song. I don’t know if I have any Christmas songs to explain any of my comic picks this week. But who knows! What I do know is that I love supernatural noir tales and that’s what we’ve got right here. When artist Fillmore Hauser is killed at one of his fancy parties, it’s up to Detective Saxon to find the murder. But non of the guests are talking. That’s always the way. So now Saxon’s got to dig into the seedy underbelly to find out what’s going down. (Andrew)

WALK THROUGH HELL #6 $3.99 (Aftershock)Hark how the bells / single a knell / All seem to say / death is the way // Shaw has lost hope / McGregor can’t cope / world falls away / “save me” they pray // Ding Dong Ding Dong / that is their song / they both still hear / death is so near. (Carol of the Bells) (Kris)

PUNISHER #5 $3.99 (Marvel)You better not shoot / You better not fire / ‘Cause then you’ll end up in a funeral pyre / Frank Castle is hunting you down! / He’s making a list / Zemo’s number one / and when he is through all of Hydra is done / Frank Castle is hunting you down! That’s all I got. In all seriousness, Punisher is up shit creek this holidays as he’s surrounded by Hydra agents. We’ll see who comes out on top. Either way, a change is gonna come after this issue. Happy Holidays! (Andrew)

So there you go. That’s this week’s New Comics. Check these books out and let us know what you think. We’ll be back again next week with more choice cuts of comic goodness.

If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
