Show Notes:

We talk with director Jordan Canning. She’ll be on to talk about her work in television on shows like Baroness Von Sketch Show and Schitt’s Creek. Jordan Canning was exposed to the world of filmmaking at a very young age through her mother who worked as a production designer. It wasn’t until after university when she made her first short film through the Newfoundland Independent Filmmakers Cooperative (NIFCO) in St. John’s that she truly fell in love with directing. Her television credits include directing all twenty-three episodes of the CTV digital series SPACE RIDERS: DIVISION EARTH. The show won the 2014 Canadian Screen Award for Best Digital Series and four Canadian Comedy Awards, including Best Director. She has also directed on multiple TV series, including SAVING HOPE, THE DETAIL, BURDEN OF TRUTH, BARONESS VON SKETCH SHOW, SCHITT’S CREEK, THIS HOUR HAS 22 MINUTES and LITTLE DOG.

Our review of The Umbrella Academy starring Ellen Page, Tom Hopper and David Castañeda. On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. But not everything went according to plan. In their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded. Now, the six surviving thirty-something members reunite upon the news of Hargreeve’s passing. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya and Number Five work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father’s death. But the estranged family once again begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.

We also talk with actor Tennille Read. Tennille can currently be seen on the latest season of Workin’ Moms on CBC in the role of Bianca. She’ll be on to talk about that and MORE! Tennille Read was born in Toronto and raised in Newmarket, Canada. From a young age, Tennille had set her sights on performing. Her first big break came when she was cast to star alongside Eugene Levy on the CBC and Netflix hit television series SCHITT’S CREEK. Since then, Tennille has amassed a significant body of work in several film and television productions including CONDOR, SHADOWHUNTERS, GOOD WITCH, THE MEANING OF LIFE and BAJILLIONAIRES. Coming up next, Tennille can be seen starring as Bianca in the highly anticipated third season of WORKIN’ MOMS alongside Catherine Reitman.

It was a great show!
