Years and Years (
Monday Night RAW! (9pm / USA) – This marks the first episode since the HUGE announcement last week that Paul Heyman is now running RAW! While I don’t expect major changes on such a short timetable this week it will be interesting to see if maybe some of the lower to mid-card stars get any attention beyond what has been happening so far this year. For the first time in months, I’m REALLY excited to see RAW! Future could be very bright indeed with the Advocate running the Red Brand. (Mr. Green)

The Good, the Bad, the Hungry (
Smackdown LIVE! (9pm / USA) – Just like with RAW! this is a big show as it marks the first night under Eric Bischoff as the Executive Director of the show. Now here I’m a little less confident in what Bischoff is going to be doing but my fingers are crossed that things turn out for the best. Hey, as long as it’s not Vince we will be in a better place right off the top. While it will be new leadership like Heyman I believe the same applies to keep the expectations low to start. But it would be something if there were radical changes this week as unlikely as I think might happen. (Mr. Green)

Stranger Thing Recap?? (
Nothing! – Sadly for the first time this year, I was unable to find anything to recommend on a weeknight. So you can take Sammy’s advice above or maybe watch a movie like Jaws. It also takes place around the July 4th holiday so why not keep the theme going. (Mr. Green)
Thursday, July 4
Stranger Thing: Season 3 (3am / Netflix) – It’s the third season of Stranger Things. You’re pretty much in or you’re out. The second season was awful but the trailer for season 3 is engaging so hopefully, the show is back on track. So I’ll check it out. (If Stranger Things isn’t working for you try also on Netflix Dark. 2 sublime seasons in that show continues to marvel and entertain.) (Sammy)
Elementary (10pm / CBS) – Shockingly there is new TV scheduled on the holiday. This final season of the show has been on fire. With really interesting stories on a weekly basis plus with an overarching season-long narrative unfolding with possible terrorists. While the repatriation of Holmes back to New York was a little hammed-fisted in execution I’m happy to see the band back together for the final episodes. (Mr. Green)
Friday, July 5
Being Evel? (Anyti
Swamp Thing (3am / DC Universe) – We’ve just passed the half way point of the season and it’s really getting solid. Which continues to make sad about its cancellation if given a little more time we may have moved onto truly great things in the future seasons. They were already hinting at Arcane coming back from Abby’s past. We had the Phantom Stranger (talking about the Green finally) show up last week and still have the Blue Devil on his cursed way. I really look forward to this show each week I just hope others are too. (Mr. Green)
Saturday, July 6
Bohemian Rhapsody (8pm / HBO) – I ah didn’t bother putting on pants to check out Bohemian Rhapsody when it was in the cinemas; figured the guy Bites The Dust at the end so I could wait. Think everybody who didn’t see it was Under Pressure once it started winning awards like Champions. Well, the movie Show Must Go On and now it’s premiering on HBO. (Sammy)
Ghostbusters (7pm / AMC) – One of the funniest movies ever made is on AMC tonight. You can never go wrong with Ghostbusters ever! It has probably the best performances out of each of the SNL/SCTV alums plus great performances from Annie Potts and the underappreciated Ernie Hudson. Hudson has some of the funnier interactions in this film. Regardless here is your homework for the night. Important Safety Tip: NEVER CROSS THE STREAMS. Unless you are facing Gozer the Gozerian than have at it. (Mr. Green)

Evel Live 2 (
What Just Happened??! With Fred Savage (9:30 / FOX) – This has to be one of the oddest things I have come across in the past few months on TV. Fred Savage hosts an aftershow for hit TV series The Flare. It’s an aftershow that mixes the typical celebrity commenters discussing the show but also has some talk show elements like interviews and comedy bit on location. Which all sounds pretty interesting except there is one problem, it’s not a real show. That’s right the whole premise here is to do an aftershow comedy that pokes fun at the aftershow phenomenon that is currently hitting screens around the world. I missed this last week but will be for sure checking it out this week. (Mr. Green)
Well, there you go plenty of options for the week ahead. Enjoy yourself and watch responsibly.
If you’re gonna geek out, GEEK HARD!
