Brea Grant’s acting career started with playing Jean Binnel on Friday Night Lights, Daphne Milbrook on Heroes and Ryan Chambers on Dexter. Her directorial debut, an apocalyptic road trip movie called Best Friends Forever, premiered at Slamdance Film Festival in 2013. Grant wrote and directed her second feature in 2019, a dark heist film entitled, 12 Hour Shift, starring Angela Bettis, Chloe Farnworth, David Arquette and Mick Foley. The film was shot on location in Arkansas with the production company, HCT Media. She has also seen success in the world of comics. Brea runs a weekly podcast with Mallory O’Meara on the Maximum Fun network about reading and books called Reading Glasses.

Also joining us on the program is actor Sydney Meyer. Sydney returns to Geek Hard to tell us about her role on the new series, Grand Army. The show debuts on Netflix on October 16th. Here’s a quick bio on Sydney:
Sydney Meyer has amassed a significant body of work in several film and television productions including TRANSPLANT, DEPARTURE, V-WARS, THE EXPANSE, SAVING HOPE, LEVEL 16 and DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION. Her first big break came when she was cast as Helen Blackthorn in the highly popular supernatural drama television series SHADOWHUNTERS. It was with this project that she experienced firsthand the power of a strong fandom for a television show. Coming up next, Sydney is set to star in the new Netflix series GRAND ARMY which follows a group of New York City teenagers as they navigate life, sex, and trauma inside and outside of the halls of their public Brooklyn high school.
