Welcome friends to Back Issue Bloodbath, a comics-centric podcast presented by Geek Hard. Join hosts Andrew Young and Petula Neale as they get down and dirty in the four-colour world of comic books, focusing on classic stories, new issues, comic creators and hot button topics.

This week on Bloodbath, it’s time for another creator spotlight. This go around, we’re looking at the comic art of J. Bone. J. is a cartoonist and has written, drawn, and inked on various projects for over two decades in the business. He’s collaborated with great creators like Denny O’Neil, James Robinson, and J. Torres just to name a few. But he is most known for his long time collaboration with the late Darwyn Cooke. They worked on Spider-man’s Tangled Web, The Spirit, and more!

Bone’s style harkens back to the Silver Age, featuring classic barrel-chested heroes and buxom heroines. There’s an unbridled energy to his drawings that leaves the reader with a smile on their face. It’s hard to not have fun when reading a story drawn by Bone.

Join Andrew and Petula as they look back on a number of comics that feature the work of J. Bone. There’s talk of The Saviors and The Rocketeer. Also, as a bonus, you’ll get to hear an interview Andrew did with J. at the release party for True Patriot, a Canadian superhero anthology released in 2013. It’s all waiting for you an ALL NEW Back Issue Bloodbath. Enjoy.
